Rotary Club of San Juanico Tacloban, Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), Family of Johny Chu Go, and Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS) Board of Trustees (BOT) marked a significant milestone by officially turning over the 3-storey Manuel Ngo Student Center to SPSPS on Friday, September 20, 2024.

๐ฆhared Vision for Educational Excellence
In her turnover speech, District Governor of Rotary International District 3860, DG Caroline Lee-Andrade highlighted the deeper significance of Manuel Ngo Student Center.
“The Manuel Ngo Student Center is more than just walls and rooms. It is a symbol of our shared vision of empowering young minds to achieve greatness,” said DG Andrade.
Meanwhile, Johny Chu Go also expressed his thoughts on educational initiatives during his turnover speech.
“I am inspired by the objective of FFCCCII and The Rotary Club of San Juanico Tacloban โ an organization that support education by donating to academic institution, helping student to have comfortable classroom in attaining quality education,” Go said.
๐ฆpirit of Service and Collaboration
The newly unveiled structure, inaugurated just eight months after its groundbreaking, will serve as a hub for various student services and activities, designed to cater to the needs of both students and employees.
School President Dr. Erwin Vincent G. Alcala, CPA, expressed gratitude for the joint efforts of the partnering organizations and highlighted the significance of such collaborations.
“This moment is a testament to what we can accomplish when institutions and communities work together in the spirit of service and shared purpose,” said Pres. Alcala.
Dr. Alcala further underscored that the Manuel Ngo Student Center symbolizes not only an improvement in infrastructure but also the institutionโs unwavering commitment to providing top-tier educational support facilities.
“Today, we are not only receiving a building, but we are welcoming a symbol of commitment, partnership, and a bright future for our students, and the students of other colleges and universities in the region,” Pres. Alcala added.
The turnover ceremony was graced by the presence of District Governor of Rotary International District 3860, DG Caroline Lee-Andrade, Past District Governors Pabs Quianzon, Riz Reyes, and Anna Louisa Bumagat, District Executive Secretary, Jonathan F. Tse, Assistant Governor, Paul Quianzon, along with other district officers and members of the Rotary Club of San Juanico.
The event also welcomed Dr. Cecilio Pedro, National President of FFCCCII, together with Victor Lim, EVP of FFCCCII, Reynold Siy, VP of FFCCCII, and other board members.
SPSPS Board of Trustees, school officials, faculty, staff, and students were in attendance.
Also, guests included Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, Director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VIII, PCOL Dionisio DC Apas, Director of the Leyte Police Provincial Office, Atty. Desiree P. Cuenco, Officer-in-Charge of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Tacloban, and a representative from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) VIII.
