SPSPS Hosts Spectacular ASEAN Festival of Talents and Closing Ceremony on its 56th Anniversary

Mary Ngo Auditorium, August 30, 2023 – The Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS) recently played host to a dazzling showcase of talent and culture as it celebrated the 56th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

With the theme “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth,” this year’s celebration aimed to highlight the significance of ASEAN in driving economic and cultural growth within the region. The ASEAN Festival of Talents and Closing Ceremony brought together students from various State Universities and Private Higher Education Institutions in Region 8, demonstrating the vibrant tapestry of talents that characterize the ASEAN community.

The Mary Ngo Auditorium and the entire SPSPS campus, adorned with colorful decorations representing each ASEAN member nation, served as a fitting backdrop for this grand celebration. The event featured a rich variety of performances, exhibitions, and presentations that showcased the limitless talents of higher education students from the region. The competitions include: Dance Sports, Chorale, Essay, and Spoken Word Poetry competitions.

 

The festivities kicked off with a processional of school presidents and CHED officers followed by dazzling performances. The audience was treated to an exhilarating fusion of traditional and contemporary performances featuring the cultures of Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Timor Leste, Myanmar, Philippines, and Brunei  from participating schools that embodied the essence of ASEAN’s rich cultural heritage.

The ASEAN Festival of Talents and Closing Ceremony at the Mary Ngo Auditorium on August 30, 2023, was not just a celebration; it was a testament to the unity, diversity, and boundless talent of the ASEAN community. As the event concluded with a grand finale, the message was clear: ASEAN truly matters and stands as an epicenter of growth, both culturally and economically. The Saint Paul School of Professional Studies has set the bar high for future celebrations, leaving a legacy of inspiration and collaboration for generations to come.
