ABOUT SPSPS

Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (formerly Saint Paul School of Business and Law and St. Paul’s Business School of Tacloban) is the largest private institution of higher learning in Eastern Visayas Region (CHEDCO), the 5th Largest Accountancy School in the Philippines (CHEDTPBME) and one of the Top 10 Big Producers of Certified Public Accountants in the Philippines (PRCBOA 2013 – 2018 Statistics). It was founded by seven (7) educators committed to provide high quality tertiary education in this part of the country.

The school is located near the Regional Government Center, the future site of the Provincial Capitol, and within the Octagon IT Park of Eastern Visayas in the highly urbanized municipality of Palo in Leyte at the southern part of Tacloban City, an ideal location away from the commercial and business activities of the city making it very accessible and conducive to learning.

Accountancy is the school’s flagship program having produced around 3,000 Certified Public Accountants in its 25 years of existence. It likewise offers programs in Juris Doctor, Accounting Information Systems, Business Analytics, Business Economics, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Operations Management, Real Estate Management, and a Senior High School Program specializing in Accountancy, Business and Management. It also offers a CPA Review Program and Refresher Courses open for BS Accountancy and Juris Doctor graduates not only of SPSPS but also from other Accountancy and Law Schools in the country.

In line with its vision of becoming a world-class professional institution of higher learning in the ASEAN Region, the school invested in a 30 Million Infrastructure Development Project making it as the only tertiary school in Eastern Visayas Region with fully – air-conditioned facilities and equipment comparable with the premier colleges and universities in Metro Manila.

In 2014, the school implemented reforms in all areas: Academic/Instruction, Administration and Facilities, Student Services, Finance and Research, to meet global education standards and to qualify with the requirements for accreditation by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) and ISO and be the first PAASCU Accredited Private Institution of Higher Learning and the first ISO Certified School in Eastern Visayas Region.

In 2017, the school forged a memorandum of understanding with Seisen University, a Catholic University in Tokyo, Japan for an International student and faculty exchange program for language and culture.

Currently, the school has 177 faculty and staff, majority of them are products of premier universities here and abroad, and ably supported by 110 student assistants serving more than 3,000 students who come from many parts of the country from as far as Tarlac in the north and as far as Davao in the south.
