JCI PH CANDAHUG LIBERATION, SPSPS LEARNING INSTITUTE HOLDS TRAINING WORKSHOPS ON BUSINESS STARTUPS AND VISUAL CONTENTS FOR PAULINIANS
The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines Candahug Liberation, in collaboration with Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS) Learning Institute, has organized training workshops for Paulinians on Business Startups, Basic Photography, and Pubmat Layouting.
The workshops were held simultaneously on February 24, 2024, from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the SPSPS Conference Hall and Library.
The training session featured industry experts who provided insights into various aspects of business ventures and visual contents. Mr. Bobbie Alota and Mr. Archie Omega, Professional Photographers and Trainers, covered the foundational principles of photography. Mr. Evan Geonzon, Professional Layout Artist and Trainer, offered valuable perspectives on creating impactful layouts. In addition, Entrepreneur Ms. Nadine Paula Ortiz-Yu, discussed opportunities in startup businesses.
College and Senior High School (SHS) students from various student organizations across different programs, along with SAVP for External Affairs Mr. Roy James Abeto, Head of Learning Institute Ms. Janelle Pamela Pedrero, Head of Publications & Media Group (PMG) Mr. Oliver Daiz, and Assistant Head of PMG Ms. Jessa Baldomar participated in the said training workshop.
MEANINGFUL COLLABORATION AND CORE INSIGHTS
In an interview, Ms. Pedrero emphasized the benefits of collaboration with a reputable organization like JCI Candahug Liberation. This enables the Learning Institute to provide high-quality training tailored to students’ needs.
“The partnership between the Learning Institute and JCI Candahug Liberation in conducting the seminar on startup business, training on photography, and pubmat layouting provides a unique opportunity for students to acquire practical skills and knowledge essential for their future careers. By collaborating with a reputable organization like JCI Candahug Liberation, the Learning Institute can leverage its expertise and resources to deliver high-quality training sessions that meet the specific needs and interests of students,” the Learning Institute Head said.
The partnership, according to Ms. Pedrero, not only enhances the learning experience but also fosters valuable connections between students and professionals in the field, ultimately preparing the students for success in their entrepreneurial ventures and creative pursuits.
Eowyn Sudario, Editor-in-Chief of The Ledger — official SHS Publication and one of the workshop participants, shared her major takeaways from the training workshop.
“My participation in the JCI training significantly enhanced my journalistic skillset. Not only did it refresh my fundamental photography skills, but I also gained valuable new techniques that I can share with our publication team to elevate our visual outputs,” said Sudario.
“The session on pubmat layout design addressed a personal area for improvement, equipping me with the knowledge I can confidently apply to future projects,” The Ledger EIC added.
Moreover, in attendance at the workshop were Ms. Maria Luisa Ignacio, 2024 LO President, and key staff members from JCI Candahug Liberation.
