Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS) will enhance its blended learning setup in the upcoming second semester to innovate and adapt to the evolving needs of students.
In a faculty workshop on October 30, 2025, Mr. Barnett Balberia, Head, Innovations and Strategic Foresight, highlighted the importance of strengthening the blended learning modality as a flexible response to the changing education landscape.
“Education must continue, whatever the circumstances,” Mr. Balberia said. “Blended learning gives us that option.”
Enhanced Blended Learning will combine in-person classes with online sessions, allowing students to learn both independently and in teams. Google Classroom will serve as the Learning Management System (LMS), enabling faculty and students to connect and engage virtually at their convenience.
Dr. Eleanor Chuca, AVP for Academic Programs & Faculty Advancements, discussed the implementation guidelines for blended learning, emphasizing both asynchronous and synchronous learning modes.
Dr. Chuca also outlined faculty preparations for the second semester, including module development, setting clear expectations, preparing learning materials, and establishing assessment methods suitable for optimized blended environment.
The updated approach is the institution’s strategic response to the changing educational landscape, offering several benefits: ensuring continuity of learning, building educational resilience despite challenges, and optimizing available resources.
Moreover, the program will also inject innovations and modifications to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
An orientation for students will be held during the first week of the second semester to familiarize them with the updated blended learning system.
