JLCEP Paulinian delegates conclude 12-day language and cultural program in Japan

Paulinian delegates of the Japanese Language and Culture Exchange Program (JLCEP) returned home this week after completing a 12-day program in Tokyo, Japan.

From November 6 to 17, 2025, delegates had the opportunity to attend classes at Seisen University, including Japanese language lessons, campus tours, and workshops in calligraphy and traditional crafts. They explored iconic Tokyo landmarks such as Zojo-ji Temple, Tokyo Tower, Shibuya, Akihabara, and Asakusa, immersing themselves in Japanese culture through traditional kimono experiences, market visits, and local cuisine.

Moreover, cultural highlights included the National Museum of Nature and Science, TeamLab Borderless, and participation in the Aomori People’s Festival. The program also featured a Japanese sweets-making workshop, a vibrant cultural presentation showcasing “Waray-waray” heritage. Participants enjoyed recreation at Tokyo Disney Sea before returning to the Philippines.

The Japanese Language and Culture Exchange Program (JLCEP), in partnership with Seisen University in Tokyo, Japan, fosters international collaboration by offering students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Japan’s language, traditions, and customs.

This 12-day program promotes student and faculty mobility, cultural exchange, and collaborative learning. JLCEP participants gain hands-on experience with the Japanese language and daily life, enhancing their intercultural competence and global awareness.
