Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS) extends its profound gratitude to the generous donors whose compassion and support made our recent relief mission possible. Your contributions reflect the enduring Paulinian spirit of volunteerism, solidarity, and Bayanihan that unites our students, faculty, staff, alumni, partner institutions, agencies, friends, and benefactors both here and abroad.
Our sincerest appreciation to NBI Mandaue City, under the leadership of Chief Arnel Pura, and to the Office of the National Deputy Director for Operations, Atty. Antonio Pagatpat, for their invaluable partnership throughout this initiative. Their commitment and proactive procurement and preparation of relief goods to the identification of recipients and the provision of vehicles and a transport truck, ensured the efficient and successful delivery of relief packs to 250 families in heavily affected communities in Talisay City, to a family in Bagayan, Cebu City, and to two SPSPS students from Compostela, Cebu who suffered severe losses due to Typhoons Tino and Uwan.
This mission has been both humbling and deeply moving. It brought us face to face with families who lost their homes, belongings, and the basic necessities essential for daily survival—scenes that echo the devastation experienced during Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. The situation also highlights broader systemic challenges affecting these areas, including the environmental consequences of mining, deforestation, and the persistent impact of substandard infrastructure exacerbated by corruption. These realities compel us to pause, reflect, and recognize the blessings we enjoy, and to share generously with those in need.
We likewise commend the dedicated representatives of SPSPS who joined the relief operations. Your selflessness, compassion, and readiness to serve exemplify the values of love, service, and social responsibility that define our Paulinian identity. Your presence on the ground made a meaningful difference, and the institution is immensely proud of your efforts.
As we look ahead, SPSPS remains committed to sustaining initiatives such as “Piso Ko, Bulig Ko,” which enable us to support vulnerable students and communities in times of hardship. Together, let us continue fostering a culture of empathy, solidarity, and generosity—values that strengthen our institution and uplift the lives of those we strive to serve.
Thank you, and may God continue to bless and guide us all.
