CHED designates SPSPS Prexy as a Member of the Technical Panel for Accountancy

Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS) President Dr. Erwin Vincent G. Alcala, CPA, will serve as a member of the Technical Panel for Accountancy for the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), a distinguished body of experts in the Accountancy profession.

CHED Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III appointed Pres. Alcala on December 9, 2024, along with Board of Accountancy Chair Dr. Noe Quiñanola, Dr. Joy Rabo of DLSU, Dr. Pat Empleo of UST, and Former Grant Thornton International Chair Marivic Españo.

With his new appointment to CHED, effective January 5, 2025 to December 31, 2028, Pres. Alcala is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on academic standards, curriculum development, and policies related to accountancy education in Philippine higher education institutions.

This role involves evaluating and recommending best practices, ensuring alignment with industry requirements, and supporting the advancement of the accountancy profession in the academic sector in the Philippines.
