SPSPS engages with emerging technologies to shape the future of learning

Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS) strengthens its engagement with educational innovation as its delegates join CanvasCon Philippines 2026 on October 7 at Conrad Manila in Pasay City.

Organized by Instructure, the maker of Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), the conference carries the theme “Shaping Readiness, Together.” It brings together higher education leaders, educators, and institutional decision-makers to explore how emerging technologies and evolving learning practices can help institutions prepare for the future of education.

Prof. Barnette C. Balberia, Head of Innovations and Strategic Foresight; Prof. Eleanor R. Chuca, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Prof. Kevin James Oledan, Faculty (Accountancy Programs), represent the school at the conference.

The full-day conference focuses on three key areas: AI with Intention, Ready to Learn and Ready to Engage, and Skills That Last. These discussions highlight the need for responsible artificial intelligence integration, meaningful learner engagement, and the development of competencies that remain relevant amid changes in the workplace and society.

For SPSPS, this serves as a capacity-building opportunity to examine emerging practices, strengthen strategic foresight, and identify approaches that can support the school’s academic and digital development priorities.
